Montana Pro Rodeo Hall & Wall of Fame
The Montana Pro Rodeo Hall and Wall of Fame awarded their 2024 collegiate scholarships to 16 deserving high school seniors at the Montana High School Rodeo State Finals in Kalispell, Montana. These scholarships are awarded based on academics, rodeo participation, community service and need.
This year marks the 20th year that these scholarships have been awarded to deserving Montana high school rodeo athletes. This year's recipients are Landon Burleigh-Lewistown, Drew Ellingson-Sidney, Logan Gerhard-Thompson Falls, Weston Hersel-Lewistown, Garrett Larson - Sidney, Clay Pendergrass- Lewistown, Maurice Redhorn - Browning, Cash Trexler - Corvallis, Hailey Burger - Helena, Payton Levine - Wolf Creek, Kate Wiening - Lewistown, Ella Begger - Townsend, Ella Moedl - Worden, Grace Lenhardt - Helena, Samantha Gerlach - Columbus, Emma Atkinson - Great Falls.
The Montana Pro Rodeo Hall and Wall of Fame also awarded the 2024 MHSRA Queen, Sophia Wyatt, a $1000 scholarship.
New this year was the $2000 Art of the Cowgirl Tammy Pate Scholarship which was awarded to Briley Anderson of Manhattan.
The Montana Pro Rodeo Hall and Wall of Fame is the largest provider of scholarships to high school rodeo participants in the nation. The MPRHWF is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the western and rodeo heritage of Montana, as well as providing Montana high school students the opportunity to continue their education. Academic All-Around Scholarship
MHSRA along with Pennmont Foundation award 2 scholarships yearly to the academic all around winner. This scholarship is determined by the members GPA and their All-Around Points. The 2024 winners were Walker Story - Martinsdale and Mollie Mae Ruth- Big Timber.
MHSRA Scholarship
Every MHSRA Senior who goes through the scholarship interview process at the State Finals Rodeo and does not receive one of the offered scholarships will receive a Scholarship from the Montana High School Rodeo Association, no separate application is needed.
NHSRA Merit Scholarship
NHSRA awards scholarships to each state based on membership numbers. If you apply for the Montana Pro Rodeo Hall & Wall of Fame Scholarship and complete an interview, then you will be qualified to receive a NHSRA Merit Scholarship. For the 2023-24 season, Montana was able to give 10 scholarships to deserving seniors. The winners were: Mitch Detton, Rafe Spring, Ty Westby, Randin Wagner, Anna Briggs, Aislynn Handy, Kassie Sweet, Hailey Wold, Hannah Botz, and Kierra Hougen.
JD Hutchinson Memorial Scholarship
The family of JD Hutchinson awards 2 MHSRA members a $500 scholarship. Garrett Larson and Emily Williams were the 2023-24 recipients.
Montana Cowgirls Association Scholarship
The Montana Cowgirls Association awarded two scholarships, a $1000 scholarship to Payton Levine and $500 to Kate Wiening.
